Just like the previous morning, the next day started off bright and sunny. Cynder was the first to wake up. She got up and stretched her sore muscles in a cat-like position, although it wasn’t so easy to do after carrying Spyro the previous day. She was surprised that she was the first one awake; usually she is the last one up.
As she passed everyone, she noticed how quiet it was and how comfortable everyone looked. She couldn’t help but smile at the thought that she was the cause of their comfort.
As she checked on Spyro, she noticed that the scales on his head were worn down or cracked. She had to constantly remind herself that Spyro would be fine. To take her mind off of him, she went hunting.
While Cynder was hunting, Ignitus woke up from a comfortable sleep. As he stretched, Cynder came in with a fish in her mouth and put it in the room that Spyro was sleeping in. When she saw Ignitus, she asked, “Good morning, Ignitus. Did you sleep well?” “Good morning, young dragon. Yes, I’m not sure if I have slept this well before.” Cynder smiled at him and went back outside to get some breakfast for herself.

In another room, Spyro was just waking up. His head didn’t hurt as much as it did when he first woke up, but it still hurt. He heard footsteps behind him, and saw Ignitus coming toward him. “Feeling better, Spyro?” “Yeah, it still hurts though.” Spyro said as he put a wing over his head. “Yes, it will hurt for a while, but you should be able to do everything you use to do. Did you sleep well?” Spyro remembered the previous night with Cynder and said, “Yes.”
Then Spyro saw something that he wouldn’t expect to see from Ignitus: a smirk appeared on his face. Spyro was starting to get specious over his smirk. “Wait, I know that smirk. Were you spying on me last night?” Ignitus nodded. Blushing, Spyro asked, “Did you see everything?” “I’m sorry young dragon, when you screamed last night, I woke up. I couldn’t help but watch you two. You and Cynder have grown rather close, I see. I think you two make a perfect pair; you have so much in common with each other. Spyro was blushing so much; he had to cover his face with his wing so Ignitus wouldn’t see.
Spyro asked with his face still covered, “Speaking of Cynder, where is she?” “I think she is outside hunting.” Then Ignitus looked over to one side of the room and left. When Spyro went to see what Ignitus was looking at, he saw the fish that Cynder had caught for him.
He knew Cynder had got it because the bite mark was too small to be any of the Guardians’, but he was curious about how she had gotten it because dragons can’t swim. He didn’t wonder for long, remembering that he hadn’t eaten since breakfast the previous day, and immediately chowed down on his breakfast.
As Ignitus walked outside to get some breakfast for himself, he thought about what Spyro had said when he told him he had been spying; it was the exact same thing Cynder had said. “Apparently they are more alike than I thought.”
After he was finished, he went outside to find Cynder. He eventually came across a black and red tail with what looked like a knife at the end by a mushroom, and a little distance away, there were some red flowers with black centers. He grabbed a flower in his mouth and walked over to the mushroom. Sure enough, it was Cynder’s tail.
Cynder saw him and said with a bright smile, “Hi Spyro!” Spyro placed the flower on the ground in front of her and said, “Hi Cynder.” Cynder saw the flower and asked, “For me?” “Yes, it reminded me of you.” Cynder blushed as Spyro laid down beside her. “That’s very sweet of you.” Then she started licking his cheek and Spyro thought it tickled.
While Cynder was licking his cheek, she took the time to lick the knot on his head also. When she was finished, she asked, “Is your head feeling better?” Spyro put a wing over his head. “It doesn’t hurt nearly as bad as it did yesterday, but it still hurts. Ignitus said I can do everything I use to, though. What were you doing over here anyway?” “Well, I stopped here to eat breakfast, and then I decided to watch the fish in this pond.”
Cynder pointed to the pond below her, and for the first time since he got there, he noticed that they were on a small ledge. The ledge reminded Spyro of when he watched the view from on top of the mountain with Cynder and Sparx ruined their moments by teasing. “Do you know if Sparx is feeling better?” “I don’t know if he is or not, but it sure is quiet around here without him.” Spyro chuckled. “Well, let’s enjoy the peace while we can.” Then they cuddled with each other and watched the fish in the pond.

Eventually, they went back to the temple, and Sparx was just waking up when they got inside. When Sparx realized that he was in a bed, he thought he was home, until he saw Spyro and Cynder looking at him. Spyro asked, “Are you feeling better?” Sparx wasn’t as green as he was yesterday and said in a more normal but still weak voice, “Not really, I feel like I swallowed the Female Fright and all her evilness with it.”
Spyro glared at him and it made Sparx a little scared. “Sparx, even after she saved you, you’re still picking on her?” “She tried to eat me again!” Cynder glared at Sparx, which made him even more scared. He looked back and forth at the glaring dragons. “What? You guys need to lighten up.” Spyro and Cynder only glared more at him. Then he finally said, “Alright you two, I’ll admit it. I’m sorry for making you get hit on the head, and as much as it hurts to say this… thanks Cynder… I owe you one.”
She smiled and said nicely, “You can start by apologizing.” “Ok…I’m sorry for calling you the Female Fright, and Creepy Dragoness, of death and the…” Spyro cut him off and said in an annoyed tone, “Sparx.” Sparx sighed and continued, “Like I was saying, I’m sorry for calling you names and not trusting you and all… I know you’re not evil.” Spyro and Cynder looked like they were expecting to say more so he fought out, “And I’m sorry for picking on you two about being together…I was just jealous.”
Sparx was relieved to see the look of satisfaction their faces, because saying that hurt worse than anyone could imagine. “Sparx, come here.” Sparx raised an eyebrow. “Why?” “Just come here for a minute. I promise I won’t do anything to you.” Sparx sighed and flapped his weak wings so he could go over to her. Then she did something that he wasn’t expecting: she put her paws on him and brought him to her warm chest, a hug.
Sparx was trying to hide the smile and the blush that was starting to spread across his face. Then he started realize how nice she really was, and why Spyro was in love with her. Looking down at him with a smile, Cynder said, “Apology accepted.”
Then she let go of Sparx and Spyro and Cynder looked at each other with the look of love in their eyes. Sparx noticed their stare and said, “Hey lovebirds, I said I was sorry for picking on you two about being together, but I didn’t say I wanted anymore creepy lizards running around here.” That comment caught Spyro and Cynder off guard; they growled at Sparx and bared their teeth at him. Sparx was so scared, he fainted.
Spyro and Cynder both said, “Oops.” Cyril came in and asked, “What happened?” Spyro and Cynder looked guilty “Well…” Cynder confessed. “Sparx said something very mean…and the next thing we knew…me and Spyro were growling and baring our teeth…and he passed out.” Cynder pointed Sparx’s limp, glowing figure lying on the pillow.
“Well,” Cyril said. “that Sparx can come up with capital insults I must say, I don’t blame you for doing so, sometimes I almost lose my cool as well.” “Cyril, you’re an ice dragon; you never lose your cool.” Spyro said playfully. “Spyro, you breathe ice too, why did you lose your cool?” Cyril said chuckling. “Well, I guess the other elements took over.” Cyril laughed some more.
Spyro and Cyril heard chuckling and turned to Cynder. They noticed that she was hiding a smile behind her wing and was struggling not to laugh. Spyro raised an eyebrow and asked, “What are you smiling about?” Cynder couldn’t help it; she burst out laughing.
Spyro was fighting the urge to laugh at her. “Cynder, it’s not that funny!” Cynder only laughed harder and collapsed flat on her back. Spyro decided there was no use keeping it in; he burst out laughing also and landed on the floor beside her not even feeling the knot on his head. Despite his age, Cyril also collapsed laughing.
Sparx woke up and Ignitus happened to be walking down the hall when they heard Spyro, Cynder, and Cyril’s uncontrollable laughter. Sparx flew over to Ignitus with his thumb pointed in their direction and shook his head.
When the trio finally calmed down and got off the floor with their sides heaving, they noticed Ignitus and Sparx standing there. “What’s so funny?” Sparx asked. Spyro and Cynder just looked at each other and collapsed to the floor laughing all over again along with Cyril. Sparx flew over top the three hysterical dragons. “No, seriously guys. What’s so funny?” They just laughed even harder. “What’s so funny?! Hello? Hello, hello, hello…guys?”
The sight of them laughing made even Ignitus collapse laughing. Frustrated, Sparx said, “Ignitus, not you too!” Their laughter was so loud, it could be heard in the training room where Volteer and Terrador were, which made them suspicious. When Volteer and Terrador came into the room, they were shocked to find two elderly dragons on the floor laughing at the top of their lungs along with two hatchling dragons that were supposed to be heroes. Volteer was the first to crack up at the sight. “Oh no, we’ve got another one down!”
One thing Terrador is known for is his rock-hard personality. At first he thought the sight of everyone on the ground laughing was embarrassing and ridiculous. But then, a smile slowly made its way across his face and he too, was lying on the ground laughing louder than all of them. For the first time in his serious life, he felt carefree.
Sparx was shocked; he had never seen anyone, especially Terrador act this way, nor has anyone. Not only were there tough dragons lying on the floor unable to stop laughing, there were six of them laying there.
He just floated there looking at the ridiculous sight. “Well, when Terrador starts laughing, that’s where I draw the line.” He was about to go back to his pillow when he took a good look at them. He couldn’t help it; he fell right out off the air and joined them despite his sickness.

After everyone finally calmed down and got off the floor, Volteer asked, “So what was everyone so hysterical about?” “Well,” Cynder answered it all started off when…” Cynder started giggling in mid sentence along with Spyro and Cyril.
Volteer raised an eyebrow and asked, “Truthfully, what was…” Before he could finish the sentence, Sparx flew in front of his face and cut him off. “Volteer, please don’t start them up again. Their laughter is giving me a headache.”
Ignitus looked at Sparx. “It doesn’t seem like you are sick at all, young Sparx. If anything, Spyro should have a headache from that rock that hit him.” “Well, I don’t fell as bad as I did yesterday, but I still don’t fell well.”
“Yeah,” Said Spyro. “usually he’s an annoying pest that’s always butting into everyone’s conversations and complaining, but now, he’s an annoying pest that’s always complaining, butting into everyone’s conversations, and causing avalanches.” Sparx just glared at him while flying around in circles around him. “Oh, so now you’re being a jokester, aren’t ya smart alack?” Spyro giggled. “See, you did it again! Somebody call pest control!”
With that joke, everyone burst out laughing and fell on the floor again, everyone except Sparx. “What’s pest control, a toad weed?” Cynder asked. Everyone laughed even harder. Sparx looked around at everyone, especially Spyro and Cynder, and felt sad. He just looked down and went back to his pillow.
After everyone calmed down for the second time, Spyro and Cynder noticed Sparx in the corner of the room lying on his pillow. When they walked over to him, Spyro apologized. “Sparx, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you sad.” “We didn’t say it to be mean.” Cynder added. Sparx just looked at them briefly and turned away.
Spyro was feeling guilty, wishing that he never made the joke in the first place. “Come on Sparx, we weren’t laughing at you, they were laughing at what we said. Besides, you always used to pick on me in front of crowds back home.”  Sparx’s facial expression didn’t change. Cynder tapped a claw on his shoulder and he turned around. “What we’re trying to say is that we’re sorry for picking on you…and we shouldn’t have done it. Do you forgive us?” Sparx smiled. “Apology accepted.”
Spyro and Cynder smiled at each other like they were up to no good. Sparx saw the look in their eyes and was about to fly away, but before he could, they pulled him over with their wings into a big hug. Sparx tried to get out of their grip. “Oh, oh come on guys, your making me blush!” Spyro and Cynder giggled.
When they released him, they turned around and saw that the Guardians had been watching the entire time. They looked at Sparx. “We’re also sorry Sparx, we were wrong to laugh at you.” Ignitus said. The other Guardians nodded. Sparx looked a little shocked. “Aw, the big guy’s apologizing too. Come on, hugs for everyone!”
Then Sparx hugged Ignitus’s battle-scared chest, and he looked kind of funny doing so, being that he is a small dragonfly trying to hug a full-grown dragon. Chuckling was heard around the room, and soon, for the third time, everyone was on the floor again.

A while later, Spyro and Cynder were talking about the day outside under a mushroom while Sparx was asleep. “Cynder,” Spyro asked. “why were you laughing in the first place?” Cynder giggled. “Well, one thing I was laughing at was the joke you said about Cyril, and then I thought back on when we scared Sparx. You know, once you think about it, doesn’t it seem really funny?” “Yeah, it does seem really funny.”
“Spyro, if you didn’t think it was that funny, then why did you collapse?” “I was laughing at you! You just looked so funny, and I have never seen you so happy before.” Cynder raised an eyebrow. “Well, this is only the second day where we didn’t have to worry about apes and pirates and getting killed or corrupted. I used to be sad all the time.” “But you’re not anymore. You’re just like you should be.” Spyro licked Cynder’s cheek making her blush.
“Oh, and speaking of never seeing anyone so happy, did you see Terrador? I have never seen him anything but serious before!” “And did you see Ignitus? He’s the kind that would play with us, but I have never seen him laugh like that! Not to mention those two goof balls Volteer and Cyril, sometimes I think they are our age!” “Cynder, did you see how much Sparx was laughing!?” “Yeah, he looked like he was about to burst!”
Spyro and Cynder just lay there laughing and leaning up against each other so they wouldn’t flop over. Spyro put his wing around Cynder’s shoulders. “And to think Sparx still thought you were evil. Look how happy you make everyone.” Cynder looked at him. “Look how many jokes you can make up.” “Well, I think I caught it from Sparx, you know how he is, can’t go two seconds without making a joke. You should have heard him before I met Ignitus.”
“Before you met Ignitus? When did you meet him?” Cynder said, raising an eyebrow. Spyro thought for a second. “Sometime the day I rescued you from Convexity.” Cynder looked shocked. “How did you survive if you weren’t with Ignitus?” Spyro hesitated before saying, “Well…you are going to be really surprised at this…I was raised by dragonflies.”
Cynder never lost her shocked expression. Spyro noticed her expression. “It’s a long story.” Cynder’s expression changed to one of interest. “Tell me, I want to know.” “Alright, it goes like this…”
Spyro explained every detail to Cynder, from how he met Sparx the day he was born, when he met Ignitus and what he told him about what happened before he and Cynder were born.
“Cynder, now that I think of it, I haven’t seen them since me and Sparx left…I wonder if they miss us.” Cynder looked kind of shocked that he said that. “Spyro, of course they miss you. In fact, maybe you and Sparx can visit them tomorrow, and maybe you can introduce everyone to them.” Spyro looked a little relived. “You’re right; I don’t know what I was thinking. Why wouldn’t they miss their only two children?”
“You know I would miss you.” Cynder said nuzzling him. Spyro nuzzled her back. “I would too.” They pressed their sides against each other’s. “You know Cynder, even though there was no chaos before I met Ignitus, I am happier now that I’ve met you.” Cynder blushed. “I don’t know what I would have done if it hadn’t been for you; you’re my hero, sweetheart.” As she licked him, she noticed that Spyro’s entire face was red once she said that.
Cynder giggled. "Spyro, how come every time I call you sweetheart, you turn as red as a heart?” Spyro didn’t realize he was blushing until she brought it up and quickly covered his face with his wing. “Can you not call me that anymore, especially in front of anyone?” Cynder giggled. “Alright, I’ll stop… sweetie.” “Cynder!” Then they both started laughing again.
Spyro thought of something else to say. “What did you do with the flower?” “I put it in a book, so it can dry out and I can keep it forever.” “You can actually do that?” Cynder nodded. “Thank you for the flower.” “You're welcome.”
“We had a great day today, huh?” Cynder asked. Spyro nodded. “Yeah, how did you manage to turn the Guardians into children?” “I don’t know, I guess I have magic powers other than what I use to breathe Dark magic and fly.”
Spyro giggled and smiled at her. “Cynder, you’re amazing. You can make elder dragons act like children, stop Sparx from snoring, and you are the bravest person I know.”  “Oh Spyro, I’m not brave, if anything you are.” Cynder said blushing.  “No Cynder, you are brave. How many people do you now that can stand up to the Dark Master after being corrupted by him?” Cynder couldn’t think of anyone.
“And not only that, you are the nicest person I know… sweetheart.” Spyro said putting his nose against hers. Cynder blushed. “Spyro, how come you don’t want me to call you that, but you can?” “It’s because Sparx might be buzzing around and it would be embarrassing if I was caught red.” Just then, Cynder licked his nose, and the sudden contact made Spyro blush. Cynder giggled. “You mean like you are now?” “Cynder!” Cynder laughed at him and Spyro couldn’t stop himself from laughing as well.

Sparx happened to be flying around at the time looking for butterflies (Ones that he know are edible; he’s learned his lesson on picking his food wisely.) when he heard Spyro and Cynder’s conversation. He had been listening the entire time, and he wasn’t very happy that Spyro was talking to Cynder and not him. Even though he apologized to Cynder for picking on them, he was still jealous, and he didn’t like how close they were.
Sparx got really mad and crossed his arms when they finished laughing and Spyro started licking Cynder’s cheek; especially the fact that Cynder was giggling while he did so. He didn’t get that mad when Cynder licked Spyro, but when Spyro licks Cynder, he gets red hot. Then he saw something that made him even angrier: Spyro and Cynder were kissing each other.
Sparx was so furious, he flew right over them and started to tease them; nothing makes them angrier than ruining their moments.
“So, what have we here?” Spyro and Cynder immediately jumped and yelled, “Ahhhh!” Sparx started flying in circles around them. “Man,” Spar said in disbelief. “I can never separate you two; you guys are always cuddling, I mean really,” “I don’t know what I would have done if it hadn’t been for you; you’re my hero, sweetheart.” Sparx said, mocking Cynder’s feminine voice. “Oh brother, that disgusting!”
Then Spyro and Cynder shot a death glare at him and crouched low to the ground, walking slowly towards him with their teeth bared and a low growl coming from their throats. Sparx flew backwards and said in a sheepish tone, “Uh… guys?” Then Spyro and Cynder roared and lunged at him with their claws outstretched; and they were so close, Sparx could count every one of their fangs.
Sparx turned white and flew away as fast as he could yelling, “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!” Spyro and Cynder got out of their fighting positions and hugged each other. “When will we ever get a Sparxless moment?” Spyro asked. Just as they were laughing, Sparx came back trembling and his teeth chattering; they growled at him. Just that made Sparx fly away screaming, “MOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!” Sparx had that same look on his face when he saw them in their evil forms; pupils shrunken and all.
As Sparx was flying away in fear, he finally noticed how dangerous they were. He looked back to all the times he watched Spyro fight, and all of the dangerous things on him; his razor-sharp horns and claws, the spines running from head to tail, and the fact that one can see his canine teeth hanging out of his mouth slightly.
Then he realized that even though Cynder is a dragoness smaller than Spyro, she had dangerous features too. She had six horns encircling her head, while Spyro only has two, and she had a horn type projection on each of her wings and on the end of her tail shaped like a knife. He wasn’t going to get them on their bad side anytime soon.
After hearing Sparx scream, Spyro and Cynder couldn’t stop laughing and they shared a long, compassionate, kiss.
Heh, even the Guardians had some fun, Sparx even got a kick out of it....wait...SPARX GOT A KICK OUT OF IT?! No wonder he messed up the ending, and the title! (He's responsible for the 'sort of in' the title"
